Heavy Highway

PLC Trenching has developed equipment and techniques to install underdrain systems in both existing and new highways efficiently. Our machines have been modified to load excavated spoils material into trucks for removal and also able to accept filter stone directly from other trucks transporting this material. This all takes place at the same time the trench is being excavated, and the drain is installed and encased. On one project PLC Trenching configured a laying system to completely surround the filter stone and drain pipe within the excavated trench by geotextile filter fabric.

We have completed over 21 million trench feet. That is over 3.1 million cubic yards of excavation, backfill, and compaction!
